ED-394 Florian Monday and his Mondos are in print and in action! In the early 1960s, Rhode Island teenagers fell into two camps-- Collegiates ("coh-leege" for short), the prim and proper university-bound studious types, and Mondos, who donned skintight black peg pants, black boots and collarless jackets. As for a certain group of Woonsocket High School students, it was obvious they didn't exactly have SAT test scores in mind when blasting out one of Rhode Island's finest rock and roll moments, Rip It Up, back in 1964. The Mondos are the earliest waxed garage rock n' roll band from the Ocean State, with their self-released debut disc Mondo Moe appearing on their own FM label in 1963.
