Alle Musiker auf diesem Album bringen mit ihrem ganz eigenen Stil und Interpretation ein ganz spezielles Hörerlebnis.

Original concept : three bands with one singer, The Booze Bombs (D), The B-Shakers (CH) and Lesly's Dynamite (D), each cover a song by one of them that also appears on the CD. That amounts to three times the same song in three different versions, with a bonus new unreleased song from each band. That's an interesting fact, so the CD contains 3 x 3 + 3 songs, and our abacus tells us that's still 12. I consider it three EPs !

The Booze Bombs' solid blues bopper I Still Cry becomes sultry medium tempo almost mambo with an exotic saxophone that has a ska sound at Lesly's Dynamite. The B-Shakers' no nonsense rockabilly version is less powerful and less modern than their own song here, Rocket Gal, where Lesly's Dynamite turns it into a saxophone ripper with boogie woogie piano, and The Booze
Bombs give it a blues-rock adaptation with slide guitar. The third song taken in hand is the somewhat cabaret-like pop song Cherry Kisses by Lesly's Dynamite.

I prefer to hear the melodically bopping version of The Booze Bombs and the cleverly rocking interpretation of The B-Shakers, a good showcase for Martina Vogels' raucous voice.

Each band, as mentioned, also contributes a new song : Birds' voice is equally raw in Gimme More Than A Kiss, but the music is rock with a double bass and even a pop organ. Rock 'n' Roll Love by Lesly's Dynamite is cozy swing jive with
again sax and piano and back the influence of cabaret, and Shake A Leg by The Booze Bombs is a heavy guitar-piano stroll and rock 'n' roll at its classic best.

My favorite band on this record are The Booze Bombs, but they were before that, so I wasn't completely unbiased. Actually, that shouldn't play through in a review, but when you contrast three bands in this way, I can't help but compare them. After all, finding something good is inevitably subjective and often depends more on your own taste than on the quality of what's on offer, so maybe you'll think completely differently !
