The Slingshots Exploded Onto The British Rockabilly Scene For A Brief Period In The Mid 80's Appearing On The Legendary Northwood Label. But When The Label Ceased To Exist, The Slingshots Also Disappeared From The Scene. The Band Actually Continued To Play Together Regularly In Their Native Sheffield Under A Series Of Different Names, And Were Rediscovered By Chris Cummings Of Riverside Studios In The Mid 90's When Interest In Northwood Records Began To Grow. After Being Persuaded To Revert To Their Original Name, Chris Booked The Band Into His Studio And Some Of The Resulting Tracks Were Heard On The 'More Riverside Rockabillies' Compilation (Rauclp 022). The Slingshots Contributions Were Repeatedly Singled Out As The Stand Out Tracks On The Album, And They Were Soon Again Gigging Again Regularly Around The Uk And On The Continent. 'Feels So Right' Is The Slingshots First Full Length Album, And Presents An Impressive Selection Of Pure Roots Rockabilly Recorded On Vintage Recording Equipment To Create A Totally Authentic Feel. The Bands Original Material Brings In Old Style Blues And Hillbilly. Their Songwriting Talent Is Perhaps Showcased Best On The Brilliant 'Steamhammer Jones'. They Also Pay Homage To The Late, Great Carl Perkins, One Of Their Biggest Influences, On Their Covers Of His 'Say When' And 'You Can Do No Wrong'.
