Hellbilly Boogie Blood Trilogy Vol. 1 Slithers From The Hellbillys' Psychobilly Roots Into An Inferno Of Hardcore And Metal, Kindled By The Horror Movie Undertones That Have Always Heated The Flames Of Their Music. They've Been Perfecting The Art Of Making An Album Fit To Commit A Murder To And Here Is A Suitable Soundtrack To All Your Villainous Intent! This Album Is Raw And Furious Including The Previously Unreleased Live Favorite 'Torture Me' And The Usual Peppering Of Depraved Covers Such As A Riotous Rendition Of Samhain's 'All Murder All Guts All Fun' A Fun Romp Through Richard Hell & The Voidoids' 'Blank Generation' And The Standard Louis And Burns Blues, 'Tiger Man' (Learned From Elvis, Not Rufus Thomas). Yet As Adept As They Are At Interpreting The Work Of Others The Hellbillys' Original Material Is What Makes This A Worth While Listen. The Only Flaw Is The Intro To 'Prowl' An Overdrawn Sample Of Lon Chaney Jr. Explaining His Lycanthropic Ways That Gets Sillier And Sillier As It Meanders On. Otherwise 'Prowl' Is The Strongest Track On The Record Aside From The Reverb Amped 'Among The Dead' And Lon's Musings Are Easily Forgotten In A Fury Of Low Growls And Head Stomping Riffs. Overall, Blood Trilogy Vol. 1 Is A Solid Example Of A Band Continuing To Evolve And Exact Terror On The Weak Ears Of The World.
