Everything began with the decision of Harold´s father Hector to move to Texas.
Harold and his cousin Ray Campi came close, and long weekends were spend at Harold´s house, listenng to many Country and Hillbilly music.
Around 1947, Harold took an employment at the nearby Coca Cola plant on W.6th Street .
Many of his “Coke Buddie´s” like Buddy Wyatt, “Slim” Hendricks and Chick started to join the sessions at Harold´s house regularly.
The first recordings Ray and Harold ever made were cut on W. 6th Street from 1949 to 1951 by Ray´s friend Jack Mc Graw.
Harold Layman´s song´s reflect his love to Newfoundland and Texas.
His style is traditional Hillbillyand the “Coca Cola Routeman” had friends all over central Texas.
He was a passionate musician, and Harold Layman was loved by everybody who knew him.
