In the late 50?s rock’n'roll get electrified this era approximately situated between 1958 and 1962 is characterised by the bloom in industrial cities of the northern part of States of young kid’s small combos using distortion on electric guitars and bass supported by an howlin’ saxophone and recording for small labels with limited technical and financial resources. This raw and wild style first known as wild rock then became « white-rock » in the seventies for Europeans collectors who weren’t really fluent with English language term now accepted by the Anglo-Saxon!

In France in the early eighties while everybody was into rockabilly, some French young Parisians known as the Jokers revitalized that forgotten style and in 2009 bassist Stephane of the deceased former band decided to start a new adventure with Didac on guitar. They were joined by saxophonist Jerome also a former Jokers, Lulu on drums and Charlie on guitar and vocals.

Influenced by the world of American hot rod 1950 made by coachbuilders such as Barris brothers, Darryl Starbird, Alexander brothers, Ed Roth and many others, their compositions talk about stories of unhappy heart, detective stories, brief counter, epics mechanical … They are traditionally mixed in concert with vitamin times rock ‘n’ roll in the late 1950s and early 60s.

Needless to say that the guys know how to recreate the same energy and power of that turning point style between two decades (but with a cleaner and better sound than in the late fifties!). In the golden age of white-rock, guitars and saxophone were seen as weapons and the energy expended was inversely proportional to sales and looked more like the strength born of desperation confronted to a increasingly market monopolized by major companies and quieted down by teenagers pop idols.
We are no longer in 1959 but the Megatons savagery (which will never be number one in sales!) still sounds as powerful in today’s context of a bland musical landscape in the hands of majors dumping crap and junk… Fact: Rock’n'Roll is fresher and more revolutionary than ever and Megatons are his weapons!
