George Jones's first recording session for New York based Musicor records was a collaboration with teen idol Gene Pitney. It resulted in the album "Recorded in Nashville".
Jones 2nd album for Musicor though was to be a solo effert titled "New country hits". It was released in July 1965 and reached no.5 on the US country charts. It also featured the two tracks available here for the first time on 45.
"Feeling single, seeing double" was written by the late Wayne Kemp, and with its amazing guitar work this track really should have stormed the charts....So get ready to dance!!!!

The B side " Along came you" was written by Jones and Jack Rich. Its stunning guitar work makes this another classic worthy of its place on this special 45.

Both songs were recorded in June 1965 at the famous "Quonset hut studio" built by Owen Bradley , bought later that year by Columbia records. "The Possum" records at  Musicor till 1971.
