Best known as the writer and lead singer on the Four Deuces’ bluesy vocal group classic ‘W-P-L-J’, Lord Luther is rock’n’roll royalty, a colourful character from the heady days of the 50s and early 60s. Luther’s vintage catalog covers a decade’s worth of singles that stretch from doo wop with the Four Deuces to his own unique blend of R&B and rock’n’roll, on highly regarded records like ‘Teenage Creature’, ‘Thinkin’ Man’s Girl’, ‘Just One More Chance’ and ‘Tremble’. All of these and a host of unissued vintage sides are featured on “I Am The Lord!”, covering his collectable recordings for the Music City, Frantic and Gedinsons labels between 1954 and 1964. Luther’s had a reputation as an exciting performer in his Bay Area stomping grounds, and his recorded legacy demonstrates why. Produced with full co-operation from the artist, “I Am The Lord!” Finally puts Lord Luther on the map as one of the greats of northern Californian rock’n’roll. Street Date: 04/20/2010
